Cookie Policy
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work or work more efficiently, to remember preferences, and to provide information to site operators. Similar technologies — including localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB — are treated as cookies for the purposes of this policy.
2. How we use cookies
Sandworm uses a small number of cookies for three purposes:
- Essential cookies — required to deliver the Service. These keep you logged in, prevent CSRF attacks, and remember your consent choices. You cannot disable essential cookies and continue to use the portal.
- Functional cookies — remember preferences like your theme. Disabling these does not break anything, but you may need to re-set preferences on each visit.
- Analytics cookies — first-party only, used in aggregate to understand how the marketing site and portal are used. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
3. Third-party cookies
Sandworm does not use:
- Third-party advertising cookies
- Cross-site tracking pixels
- Social media tracking widgets
- Behavioral profiling cookies
4. Cookie table
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| sandworm.session | Keeps you signed in between page loads. | Session or 30 days | Essential |
| sandworm.csrf | CSRF token to protect against cross-site request forgery. | Session | Essential |
| sandworm.theme | Stores your dark/light theme preference. | 1 year | Functional |
| sandworm.cookie_consent | Stores your cookie consent choices. | 6 months | Essential |
| sandworm.analytics | Anonymized session ID for aggregate page-view counts. No third-party tracking. | 30 days | Analytics |
All cookies listed above are first-party.
5. Managing your preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie consent banner that appears on your first visit. Your choices are stored in your browser's localStorage and persist across sessions.
Most browsers also allow you to refuse cookies or delete cookies that have already been set. You can usually find these settings in the "Options" or "Preferences" menu of your browser. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to the portal.
6. Data retention
Cookie data is retained only for the duration specified in the table above. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized — we do not retain individual session-level analytics data beyond 30 days. Essential cookies are cleared when the session ends or after their specified maximum duration.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Material changes will be notified through the cookie consent banner on your next visit.
